Bring your Challenge to the May 11, 2026 Meeting

 

 

QUILTING BY THE NUMBERS

​

For this year’s challenge, you choose what to make: quilt, mini quilt, bag, placemat(s), piece of clothing or any other project.​

​

The challenge is:

      Choose one number from 1 to 3

      Make your project using that number for all of the following elements:

      Block/Shape; Technique; Color

Expanded explanation:

Number 1 - make something using:
 

*1 predominant block or shape style (example: every block used in the project should be an Ohio Star; every shape would be a diamond or a half square triangle)

 

*1 predominant technique (example: paper piecing {foundation or English}, applique, strip piecing, curves, improvisation, tiny piecing, hand or machine stitching, embellishment, embroidery untraditional material, bias tape, trapunto, ruler/free motion quilting, partial seams, fussy cutting)

 

*1 predominant color (variations in tint, tone, shade, etc. permitted)

Number 2 - make something using:

*2 different blocks or shapes

 

*2 different techniques

 

*2 colors

*3 colors
