2013 Quilt Show News
Our quilt show is in 2013 and I’m excited already… it’s like an expectant mom preparing for a baby.
We’re making plans for the 2013 in segments. This year will be dedicated to logistical planning, such
as personnel, and fundraising. Next year it will be the hard work that goes along with putting a successful show together.
Show Theme and Logo Design Contests
To kick off our planning, we’re launching a contest to pick a theme for our show. With so many
creative minds, I’m sure we’ll come up with a number of great ideas. The membership at large will
have an opportunity to vote on the submissions at the December and January meetings. Submissions
are due no later than Wednesday, November 25.
To submit a name for consideration, please email show@gardenstatequilters.com with the subject "Theme
Contest". All submissions will be offered to the membership for their consideration and the theme
with the most votes will win, and the winner will be announced at the January party. Alternately, you
can submit your idea in writing to Aleeda or Lori Roth at a meeting.
Next year, we will use this theme to design a logo for our 2013 show; it can be a traditional block,
an original design or a combination of both. Both winners will be recognized at our meetings (the
logo design, if an original work will also carry the creator’s signature), plus they will win the following
prize package: one free quilt submission, one custom-created label, and sleeve for their quilt submission.
